£174.00

Design code: PBZ-1655-N

Handcrafted in sterling silver with genuine hand-painted miniature painting/artwork enclosed between a silver plate and a glass front.

A destroyer of evil forces, Kali, a Hindu goddess, is considered the most powerful form of Shakti. Seen as the divine protector and the one who bestows moksha/liberation, she destroys the evil to protect the innocent.

Zoom in and you'll notice the stunning level of detail that the masterful strokes of the miniature artist have managed to fit in the 2 cm by 2 cm square. Depicted as blue per popular folk art traditions, Her eyes red with intoxication and rage, hair disheveled, and the characteristic tongue lolling. Also seen- Khadga (crescent-shaped sword/giant sickle) in a raised hand, and a garland consisting of human heads. The sword signifies divine knowledge and the head signifies the human ego which must be slain by divine knowledge, to attain moksha.

The bold artwork and the geometric form of the pendant are softened by the dainty floating pearls chain. Whether as a protective charm, a personal talisman, or just as a symbol of the divine feminine, this is one piece of jewelry you'll never want to take off.

Dimensions: (of the square Kali pendant) 3 cm long and 3.2 cm at the widest (including the pendant loop/bale). The total length of the necklace end to end: 17" (including lobster clasp) with an additional 1.5" extension chain.

In a quaint home-cum-studio in Rajasthan, each miniature is deftly painted, using centuries-old techniques. Please allow for minor variations in the artwork and color, in keeping with their hand-painted nature.
